FAQ
Common questions
Short answers for people and answer engines.
- What is the Isembard Talent Engine?
- It is a jobs site for Isembard franchisee CNC shops in the US. It matches machinists with open roles.
- Who can post jobs?
- Only Isembard franchisees. Hires become employees of that shop.
- How fast can I join as a candidate?
- Use the join form or the job-fair QR page. Upload a CV when you can. Confirm eligibility. Submit.
- Does the CV upload verify my skills?
- No. The parser pre-fills fields from PDF or DOCX text. Shops still assess you.
- What is the competency score?
- It is a short self-assessment after you upload a CV. You tap scores from 0 to 5 across seven skill areas. We compute a weighted score from 0 to 100 and a level label. This is self-assessed only. Employers will verify your skill, for example with a practical test.
- What is the franchisee hiring pipeline?
- Three stages for US shops: Screen (competency + eligibility, with auto-shortlist), Due diligence (checklist with owners and dates), and Assess (Isembard Hermle skills test). A verified score from the test sits beside the self-assessed score and can show a Verified badge.
- What is the eligibility self check?
- You confirm US work authorisation and defence-contract eligibility. This is not verification. Shops verify later.
- How does matching work?
- Franchisees define a role profile: machines, controls, processes, materials, sector and a minimum competency level. We rank candidates by fit percent from those fields, competency categories and any Verified skills-test score. Each row shows why this match.
- What is the job-fair quiz?
- A 60-second mobile form from the QR page. You leave name, phone or email, ZIP, top machines, years and eligibility. We create a lightweight lead with an event tag. Finish your full profile later. Shops can export leads as CSV per event.
- What is skills-gap coaching?
- On a candidate profile we show two or three static next steps to raise level, for example NIMS credentials, GD&T study or 5-axis exposure. This is guidance only. Shops still verify skill.
- Is the UK supported?
- The MVP is US-first. Country is stored as a field so UK can be added later.
- Is this demo data?
- Yes in this environment. Demo shops, jobs and candidates are labelled.
